PP-Q: Reengineering for Industrie 4.0
The goal of the Industry 4.0 initiative is to increase productivity and cost efficiency by upgrading conventional production systems to cyber-physical production systems (CPPS). One essential component of CPPS is the digital twin, which mirrors the behavior of a physical system.
The goal of this part project is to develop a methodology and modeling tool to design the interconnection between digital twins and embedded controllers of a production system. This methodology should enable an automatic validation of re-engineered software based on an integrated environment consisting of CPPS and digital twins. The main challenges lie in the behavior reconstruction of physical systems and in the computer-aided generation of their digital twins.
