The first Staff Meeting in 2020 of the LOEWE-research-cluster Software-Factory 4.0 took place from 27.4.2020 to 29.4.2020. It was the first project-wide meeting that took place completely online.
The annual meeting of the LOEWE-research-cluster Software-Factory 4.0 took place in Frankfurt from 2.9.2019 to 3.9.2019. In addition to the members of the LOEWE-research-cluster, guests from universities, companies, and the LOEWE-administration attended the meeting.
From 7.6. to 8.6. the LOEWE research cluster Software-Factory 4.0 presented itself at the Hessentag 2019 in Bad Hersfeld. Software-Factory 4.0 researchers presented the project and its results to a wide audience at the booth of ProLOEWE and the initiative “Hessen schafft Wissen”.
On May 28, 2019, Software-Factory 4.0 held its industry day, a practitioner event designed to facilitate technology transfer and collaboration with commercial partners. Representatives of six companies active in the areas numerical simulation and Industrie 4.0, many of them situated in the Rhein-Main area, were invited to the Hotel Maritim in Darmstadt, where they introduced themselves and learned about our research activities during topical presentations and a poster session.
Prof. Michael Pradel, member of the initial group of principal investigators, accepted an offer for a full professorship at the University of Stuttgart. The LOEWE research cluster Software-Factory 4.0 thus loses one assistant professor. At the same time, the offer highlights that this area offers good prospects to junior researchers.
We welcome Prof. Dr. Marie-Christine Jakobs who is the new assistant professor for the research area Semantics and Verification of Parallel Systems and who will be the principal investigator for project L in Software-Factory 4.0.
The annual meeting and second staff meeting of 2018 took place in Königstein from 19. to 22. November. At the beginning, Software-Factory 4.0 members presented their results and highlights from the first year of the project. Principal investigators, researchers, and partners of Software-Factory 4.0, as well as representatives from industry, participated in that part of the meeting.
Prof. Dr. Serge Demeyer from the University of Antwerp gave his keynote presentation “Agile Software Engineering – Opportunities for Industry 4.0” on the second day of the annual meeting.
Software-Factory 4.0 was presented with two booths at the "Tag der Interdisziplinarität" on November 5, 2018. One booth presented the project as a whole, while the other both presented the two application clusters that showed first highlights and a demonstrator.
The first project-wide staff meeting of the LOEWE research cluster Software-Factory 4.0 took place in Darmstadt between 19. and 21. of September. The meeting started with a kick-off presentation by coordinator Prof. Dr. Heiko Mantel. Afterwards, the researchers made progress in the two application clusters High-Performance-Computing and Industrie 4.0, as well as the first exchange of information in the method cluster.
The members of the Application Cluster High-Performance Computing organized their second meeting this year mid May.
Held in a hotel located outside of Darmstadt, the participants found a quiet working environment.
